Y’all it’s almost Fall. The equinox is RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
And with Fall right around the corner, it’s time to...
Welcome kids back to school. What a strange two years it’s been. But with abundant evidence that outdoor settings are a safe option... we can’t wait to host school groups for educational tours on the farm again! Did you know that you can also come take your family for a self-guided tour and learn about each of our groups of animals by reading the signs we have posted by each area, scanning the QR codes, and watching the YouTube videos that we made to go along with each animal group? This is offered during store open hours.
Eat apple cider doughnuts. The best ones (by FAR) are from our friends Robbie and Jackie and their daughter Maeve at The Hard-Pressed Cider Company in Jamestown. It’s one of the best parts of this time of year!
ORDER A THANKSGIVING TURKEY!
I’m dreaming of a big thanksgiving and getting Ben’s and my families together to celebrate for the first time with Milo. Honestly, I’m still not sure what our Thanksgiving plans are. A lot is up in the air. But I sort of doubt we will have both families together around the same table this year.
BUT... Even though I’m not sure if a big gathering is in the cards for us this year, there are certain traditions we can still count on and look forward to.
Having a delicious turkey is one of those steadfast traditions! Thanksgiving may not look exactly like we had hoped this year, but I feel thankful that my family always shares a pasture-raised turkey that we raised right here on the farm. Perhaps the best part is eating the leftovers in the following days - turkey sandwiches, soup, quesadillas, hash, so many possibilities! We have lots of families that order one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.
