If this week's rainy weather has you down, don't worry. Next week should be clearer and warm -- perfect for grilling hamburgers outside before the real summer heat sets in. Blending ground pork and ground beef offers a distinctive variation on the most classic of classics. Let us know if you prefer all beef and we can substitute a second pound for you.
1 pound Wild Harmony Farm Ground Pork
1 pound Wild Harmony Farm Ground Beef
Salt and Pepper
1 bag Little River Farm Pea Tendrils
1 bag Little River Farm Mild Micro Mix
1 bag Little River Farm Salad Mix
1. Blend pork and beef in a large bowl using your hands. Everyone has her or his preference for sizes and seasoning. My recommendation is to form 1/3 pound patties, season both sides with salt and pepper, and set aside for at least an hour. I like to allow the patties to get up to room temperature by removing them from the fridge 25 minutes before putting them on heat. Please proceed in the way you most enjoy.
2. Heat grill or pan to medium-high heat. Melt cooking fat in pan if cooking on your stove top. Turn on vent hood if you wish.
3. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side.
4. Remove from heat and let rest for another 5 minutes while you whip up a fresh salad.
