FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
2022
When will I get my turkey?
Turkeys are available for pickup on November 17th from 1-5 pm and Saturday from 11-3 pm at our farm store (366 Victory Hwy C, Exeter, RI 02822).
Can I choose what size Turkey I get?
We do our VERY best to meet expectations with weight requests. We have divided the turkeys into two weight ranges (11lbs -15 lbs & 15 lbs -20 lbs) These ranges are our best estimates based on projected growth. We will not know the final weights until the day of pickup.
How does payment work?
Place a deposit of $55 on our online store. Once the birds are returned from processing, we will weigh each one and charge you the remaining balance based on the final weight.
Can I get my Turkey delivered?
This year, we're only offering pickup at the farm.
Isn't fresh better than frozen?
The "fresh" turkey you've seen at the grocery store isn't really fresh at all, but in a "soft freeze" state that allows its shelf life to hold up to 6 months. Our turkeys are immediately frozen the day they are processed for peak freshness and never thawed.
How should I thaw my turkey?
We use a cooler filled with water to thaw our turkey each year! Keep your turkey in its sealed bag and submerge in a cooler full of cold water. Replace the water every hour. This process will take about 30 minutes per pound.
Do you have any thawing or cooking tips?
We have step-by-step instructions on how to break down and brine a Turkey from the wonderful Chef Lewis! Worth the watch!
Are your Turkeys certified organic?
Wild Harmony Farm turkeys are certified organic… up until processing. It’s a bit of a saga, but worth the read, so buckle up. Click here to learn more.
