Let me introduce myself.

Hi!

I"m so glad you're here, joining me on this farming adventure. Please, allow me to introduce myself.

I'm Rachael Slattery, co-owner of Wild Harmony Farm. My husband, Ben Coerper, and I have been farming here in RI since 2012. Before farming, my career was in the maritime industry. In my past life I was a tall ship Captain. What a change! I"m also a Licensed Massage Therapist! Before our son was born, I had a private practice in Providence, RI.

Like many of you, I'm a mom... although I'm brand new to the title! Well, I've been a dog mom for 9 years but I'm new to the human mom life.

I'm just starting to gain my footing with coming back to work while soaking up the snuggles of our newborn son. I'm not exactly sure how this will all play out, but I'm so grateful for the farm playground that he gets to grow up on.

I keep wondering... how old will he be when he first tests the fence (I'm not sure who will cry more), and will I actually be able to get any garden work done this summer? Will my abs ever be strong enough to lift like I used to?

What do I do on the farm? I do all of our social media and website management. I have several bee hives (although I think I'm more of a "bee-haver" than a beekeeper). I keep up the farm garden, handle the hiring processes, and manage our apprenticeship program. I also love working out in the field with the animals but those days seem to be few and far between lately.

I fell while loading cows when I was pregnant. The nurses weren't quite sure what to make of this reason for coming in. All was well with baby and me but it was the end of me working with the animals for a bit. I can't wait to get back to it! I can see my feet again and the weather is warming up.

Thanks for following along this new adventure of blogging, momming and farming!
